First three days: Lhasa

Tibet welcomes you and Tibet Trip Hub is happy to see that you are on the board for seventeen days Kailash tour in Tibet.

Your landing either at Gonggar Airport or Lhasa railway station is welcome by the trip specialists of Tibet Trip Hub office. It is around one hour trip from the airport to Lhasa and about half an hour distant from the railway station to Lhasa.

Tibet Trip Hub has organized everything in proper place. Once you reach Lhasa, your tour guide will take you to the hotel and you only need to complete the check-in process for a good rest.

For the first three days, the program is scheduled to visit some of the most popular destination in Tibet and you will be guided to Jokhang temple, Potala Palace, Drepung Monastery, Sera Monastery as well as Barkhor street.

Day four and five: Lhasa – Lhatse

Distance coverage: 490km, 2 day drive

Two days trip

Generally it takes three days to get acclimated to the climate of Tibet and tough tour for the trip start on the fourth day.

Be excited and ready as we will move toward the next destination. Gyantse is not far from Lhasa but there is a lot of different landscapes can be viewed via the route. Two important and popular breathtaking views are Gampa La pass and Karo La pass. Shigatse is one another important site for major tourists and it is the second largest city in Tibet.

Tashilhumpo is the largest monastery in Shigatse. Gyantse is well known for it historical war that Tibetan had with British military in 1904; Gyantse Kubhum Stupa is also one of the most important religious place in Tibet.

We will visit Sakya monastery on the way to Lhatse, and will reach our destination by evening.

Day six to eight: Lhatse – Manasarovar

Distance coverage: 1400km, 3 day drive

Three days trip

Now we are far away from Lhasa but we are getting closer to Mount Kailash. You will be excited to see there are people moving toward Mount Kailash. We will also follow the footprint of the travelers and pilgrims from different place to visit Mount Kailash.

There is some amazing landscape of terrains on the way to Kailash. We will also see some the ancient traditional Tibetan life style that is people living in black tent made of Yak’s fur and have cattle around the tent home.

You will be excited to see the Mount Kailash once you cross the terrain. Be ready and we will have to hike up to the monastery located on a small hill which also offers a breathtaking view of Manasarovar lake.

Day nine to eleven: Manasarovar – Darchen

Distance coverage: 30km, 3 day drive

Three days trip

The sheep station of the old time has changed to a modern town with the increasing number of tourist visiting Mount Kailash. Today the town is filled with hotels and restaurants. It is located just right in front of Mount Kailash and it is also the starting as well as ending point of Mount Kailash circuit, which covers about 58 kms and take 20 hours to complete the circuit.

The north face of Mount Kailash can be seen once we overcome the challenge to move to Dolma La pass. Thereafter, we will have an easy trip back  to Darchen.

Day twelve to thirteen:  Darchen – Guge Kingdom

Distance coverage: 95km, 2 day drive

Two days trip

Now it is time to explore beyong Mount Kailash and we will see something that once existed in Tibet but ruined today with no any clue.

We will drive toward further west to Ali prefecture and following those zigzag road and driving up and down through the eroded gorges and gullies. Now it is the exciting moment as we are about to see the Guge Kingdom which once dominated the region during the ancient time. There are a lot of different beautiful views in Guge kingdom and you will see the canyons and sand dunes in the supper Sutlej that extends to Nepal on the Himalayan range.

Move further more, it is the international border line sharing with India. But the ruin of the temples and rooms, which used to be bright, are still visible on the big terrain.

Fourteen to sixteen:  Guge Kingdom – Lhasa

Distance coverage: 1500km, 2 day drive

Two days trip

It is for sure that Mount Kailash tour has moved very far and it takes days to return to Tibet. We will follow the the same way and retrace the same road to Lhasa.

There on the way we will have some stop for the remarkable plateau sceneries that many are eager to see and to visit. You can take some photography and keep these best moment of your life of being in Tibet.

Drive on the state highway and following Brahmaputra river will lead us to Lhasa.

Day seven Finish the trip
